I. Groups will select TWO GENRES at random & research each genre conventions, characteristics and techniques of each. Research must be prepared in PRESENTATION & ORAL FORMAT

II. PRESENTATION START FRI ,MAR 15th – WED, MARCH 20thTH
Groups will prepare PRESENTATION & ORAL DISCUSSION for class (20 mins MAX). Presentation must define AND illustrate GENRE CONVENTIONS using voice and small amounts of text.

Presentations must be rehearsed and include:
a. 5 IMAGES (per Genre) from films with title/year specific to EACH GENRE to illustrate & detail examples of GENRE CONVENTIONS

b. 4 FILM CLIPS (2 per Genre, 2 min max. 1 older, 1 newer) exemplifying GENRE CHARACTERISTICS. COMPARE & EXPLAIN recurring, familiar, patterns, syntax, techniques & conventions.

III. PRE-PRODUCTION – PRODUCTION
Groups will select ONE VARIETY of each below at random to incorporate into 4 -7 MIN FILM using conventions in juxtaposed style of TWO GENRES. Groups will then brainstorm idea, create 1-2 page treatment and pitch short film idea (3min max). PITCH must be explain method of incorporating conventions of each the TWO GENRES.
